Cấu trúc câu tường thuật gián tiếp (Reported Speech)

• Thay đổi thì của động từ (nếu động từ tường thuật ở quá khứ).
• Thay đổi đại từ để phù hợp với ngữ cảnh.
• Thay đổi trạng từ chỉ thời gian và nơi chốn.

• Câu trực tiếp: She said, “I am tired.”

Thay đổi thì của động từ

Các loại câu tường thuật

Câu tường thuật lời khẳng định

• Cấu trúc: S + said/told + (that) + S + V (lùi thì)
• Ví dụ: “I like this book,” she said. → She said that she liked that book.

Câu tường thuật câu hỏi

• Cấu trúc: S + asked + if/whether + S + V (lùi thì)
• Ví dụ: “Do you like English?” he asked me. → He asked me if I liked English.

• Cấu trúc: S + asked + wh-word + S + V (lùi thì)
• Ví dụ: “Where do you live?” she asked. → She asked where I lived.

Câu tường thuật câu mệnh lệnh và yêu cầu

• Cấu trúc: S + told/asked + O + (not) to V
• Ví dụ:
  • “Close the door,” he said. → He told me to close the door.
  • “Don’t talk in class,” the teacher said. → The teacher told us not to talk in class.

Lưu ý đặc biệt

• Không thay đổi thì khi động từ tường thuật ở hiện tại.
  • Ví dụ: She says, “I am happy.” → She says that she is happy.
• Một số động từ tường thuật phổ biến khác: tell, ask, say, explain, suggest, promise, advise.
